On Tuesday 4th June at 7.30pm @ The Old Blarney Post Office Cafe you will have the opportunity to meet our local cheese-maker Dan Hegarty. Get ready for a tasting session sampling various cheeses that they produce at Hegarty’s farm, and compare them with other cheeses available to buy in the famous Cork’s English Market. Longueville House Cider sangria will be a perfect companion on this long summer’s evening.

On their farm in Whitechurch, Co. cork, the Hegartys produce a variety of cheeses: cheddar, smoked cheddar and their newest Comte style cheese called after its location Templegall (Whitechurch in Irish).

The Hegartys’ farm has been producing milk in Whitechurch for over 100 years. Dan Hegarty wanted to develop a product that would reflect the high quality grass he grows on his farm. They work all year round to produce high quality cheeses with distinctive flavour!

If you love cheese, if you have an interest in the different types or if you are curious as to how it’s produced locally to an award winning standard this night is not to be missed.
